COVID-19 UPDATES

-We estimate it takes 6 months to plan a team trip, and 3 months to plan an individual trip (pre-Covid). That being said we expect our individual trips to resume prior to our team trips. Prior to our trips resuming these targets will need to be met to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the mission:

Travel:

  • We are excited to report that the US has downgraded their level 4 travel advisory. That being said there are still many travel restrictions in place that make organizing a team trip difficult. We will need these travel restrictions lifted (and without significant deposits required on entry) for team trips to continue.

  • In regards to individuals interested in long term trips we will evaluate the feasibility of potential travel on a case by case basis taking into consideration all potential obstacles to mission effectiveness. As of Jan 2022, we are sending individuals to Mexico and Ghana. Please inquiry if you are interested in an individual trip.

Host Country

  • Host country borders will need to be open, and accepting your nationality (for individual trips) without requiring large ‘covid’ deposits upon arrival. As all team trips have some US citizens those restrictions will have to be lifted for us to resume travel (Updated 3/26/2022)

    • Mexico: We have resumed individual trips to Mexico

    • Ghana opened their airports 9/1/2020, and are requiring a $150 covid test on arrival. Level 3 advisory due to covid. We have resumed individual trips to Ghana.

    • Laos, limited entry, with restrictions. No NBB trips at this time.

    • Cambodia, opened to travel but US still has it listed as Level 4 travel advisory. We may soon resume individual trips here.

    • The Philippines, many domestic and international travel restrictions. NBB has not resumed trips.

Schools

  • Most of our population targets are school children. Therefore, to prevent trip cancellation we are requiring the schools be opened (for in person classes) in the host country for a minimum of 3 months and without any closures due to Covid-19 surge/cases. (**this is only a requirement for the locations in which the mission serves school children)

    • Many of the children have returned to school. However, random school closures are still occurring, and we cannot send teams until they are indefinitely open. Individuals are still welcome to travel. We hope to resume team trips winter 2022/2023, and some individual trips have already resumed beginning Jan 2022.
