Puerto Vallarta, Mexico | April 2018

R.I.S.E orphanage. NBB provided free check-ups/physicals and hygiene education to the children of this orphanage.

Impact: 50 kids seen and educated, all received toothbrushes and toothpaste, 15 seen by local MD.

 

Reynosa, Mexico | April 2018

Our team of nurses provided free physicals and education to children from K-5th grade at Colegio Regents and to the children of Big Heart Orphanage.

Impact: 250 kids seen and educated, all received toothbrushes and toothpaste, parents notified of abnormal findings, database created

 

Mysore, India | June 2018

Immunizations and health care assessments were provided to dozens of children at a local orphanage thanks to our NBB volunteer- Morgan Lee!

Impact: 50 kids seen and educated and received free vaccinations.

 

Cebu and Manila, Philippines | Jan 2019

We are partnered with multiple NGOs in the Cebu and Manila including; Glory Reborn, SOS Children’s Villages, and Bahay Tuluyan. These are some pictures from Linzi’s visit to those projects.

Impact: 200 children received toothbrushes and hygiene education.

 

Tacloban, Philippines | Jan 2019

NBB handed out free eye glasses to the retired mothers, toothbrushes to children at a local shelter, and first-aid kits to SOS Children’s villages.

Impact: 15 mothers received reading glasses, and 3 first aid kits were given to the villages

 

Siem Reap, Cambodia | Jan 2019

Partnerships were formed with Feeding Dreams Cambodia, New Hope Cambodia, Angkor Teethcare, Angkor Children’s Hopsital, and Angkor Kampuchea Dental Clinic. These partnerships enabled us to provide free physicals and follow-up to hundreds of children. For more on individual opportunities please visit this page on our website.

 

Bucerías, Mexico | April 2019

A team of our nurses went to Benito Juarez School to provide free physicals and hygiene education to these children.

Impact: 250 children assessed and received free fluoride treatments, 28 were seen by a NP, 800 children were educated and given toothbrushes and toothpaste. Database was created for follow-up. Please see Oct. 2019 for continued impact from this trip.

 

Manila, Philippines | August 2019

One of our nurse volunteers spent a month helping street kids at a children’s shelter by facilitating local healthcare interventions, and providing much needed hygiene education. We are forever indebted to the difference Christian Thompson made in these kids lives!

Impact: 75 children seen, 400 children educated, 40 provider follow-ups: 28 saw an MD, and 12 saw a dentist.

 

Bucerías, Mexico | Oct 2019

One volunteer spent two weeks following-up on the children our team saw in the spring. Thank you Adela Hernandez for your service to these children and NBB.

Impact: 35 children were taken to a dentist at no cost to the families, 66 cavities were filled, and 35 cleanings were provided. 5 children received free glasses. Continued from the team trip April 2019

 

Siem Reap, Cambodia | Nov 2019

Our team of nurses spent two weeks assessing, and educating 700 children at Feeding Dreams. We have sent another volunteer to follow-up on all the health issues we found. Follow-us on social media to see her impact in real time.

Impact: 700 children were assessed and entered into our databases for follow-up, 700 toothbrushes and toothpastes were given, all girls older than 11 received sanitary pads, and all children over 12 received reproductive education, 700 children were provided a free physical. Siem Reap, Cambodia | Jan 2020

One of our volunteers has donated 6 months of her time to facilitate follow-up on the 700 free health exams our nurses provided last fall.

Impact: 700 children were provided deworming medications, 70 children have visited the dentist (many needed several visits) which has led to 194 fillings, 70 cleanings, and 69 extractions. Food has been provided to 80 families during the Covid pandemic. Time has also been spent reinforcing hand and oral hygiene education during the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

Accra and Cape Coast, Ghana | March 2020

Multiple organizations and providers were visited by our founder to determine those that could benefit the most from our services. These include; PAAJAF, CTN, and WAHEF as well as Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and UCC Hospital. We will soon update our team and individual trip lists with these opportunities!

Impact: Partnership formation with local NGO’s and healthcare providers, as well as hygiene education and toothbrush handout to 300 children.

 

Pataase and Tsetsekaasomu Villages, Ghana | Jan-March 2022

Two nurses dedicated a month of their time to providing free healthcare assessments to 500 children throughout these villages. They were able to connect these children with local providers for follow-up care.

Impact: Every child that needs to see a dentist, optometrist, or medical doctor was seen and the costs were covered by Nursing Beyond Borders. All children received hygiene education and free hygiene supplies.

 

Asemase and Essaman Villages, Ghana | Jan-Feb 2023

One nurse dedicated a month of her time to providing free healthcare assessments to 225 children is these two villages. She was able to coordinate 113 provider interventions, and that doesn’t include all the wounds dressed or children dewormed!

Impact: 113 interventions were needed by local providers and our nurse was able to make that happen. She coordinated the care with the local dentist, optometrist, and medical clinic. All associated costs were covered by Nursing Beyond Borders. All children received hygiene education and free hygiene supplies.
